I am so excited to share with you all this new logo which forms the basis of my new branding. The logo is the work of my good friend and amazing graphic designer Niamh Fitzsimmons of Niamh Design Studio in Dublin, Ireland.
Since setting up my business, I've been very hands-on with pretty much everything from my website to my accounting and logistics. The old logo was something I knocked together late one evening on photoshop! It served its purpose for a time but it had been apparent for some time that my visual branding needed refreshing.
The name 'Afnan' is my mum's family name and actually comes from Persia. Afnan literally means 'offshoot' and I was keen to incorporate the idea of a branch into the new design somehow. What Niamh did was take this simple stylistic element and create a logo that is unique, beautifully balanced and elegant, and totally fits with my visual style as a photographer.
Niamh is an absolute joy to work with and I would not hesitate to recommend her to other photographers or any creatives who need to enlist the services of a graphic designer. The quality of her work obviously speaks for itself. And working with Niamh is such a joy. She was in constant communication from the outset and took note of every single incoherent and poorly articulated comment that I gave her! In fact, it was such a pleasure I'm currently trying to thing of other excuses to work with her... I wonder if she fancies doing some wedding albums together ;)
