All quiet on the blogger front

Things have been pretty quiet on the blog this last few weeks. Since mid July, I been away from the computer for almost 3 weeks, and trying desperately to schedule shoots and edit pics around other commitments.

Two weeks were spent at a Baha'i youth festival in Somerset, where I slept under the stars and woke each morning to the following scene:

What a halcyon, bucolic experience... excluding the horseflies, mosquitos, midges and torrential rain that washed us out of our tent in the second week!

I have also taken the decision to revamp www.afnanstudios.com and am switching over to wordpress for better SEO and customisability.

As someone who has absolutely no clue about html, coding, plugins and widgets, the first few days with wordpress were completely disempowering! However, a sweet theme, with a bit of tech support from Andre Gagnon, and I'm now flying. When the new site launches in September, it is definitely going to blow people away.

We're going for a theme that employs full-screen images (a bit like Chase Jarvis' site), and some properly slick menus. You'll also be able to buy fine art prints directly from the site and, in preparation, I am working on a new series of black and white photos a bit this badboy of the (in)famous 'Blade' in Reading, Berks:
the Blade building in Reading, Berkshire

Until then, I'll continue to post here and update the old site.

Thanks for looking!

Sean
